Panasonic - Palmcorder MiniDV Digital Camcorder

Unlike the first few reviews I believe that this is an amazing product for most consumers. Hard Drive camcorders do not allow a person to easily transfer video to a Mac so I chose a MiniDV camcorder. Transferring video is a breeze especially on a Mac, but very detailed directions are given for Windows users as well. I do not think that a light is a necessity, nor should people expect them. Many units costing hundreds of dollars more don't have lights, so do your research. The picture quality is very good for the price and I had no trouble figuring out what to do. It almost does everything for you. The Panasonic brand name is also something I trust because they have never done me wrong. If a entry level camcorder with excellent picture quality is something you want then I recommend buying this one over the other brands. It will make anyone good at recording video.

I too purchased the day after thanksgiving. Great price!! I have waited 5 years to find a camcorder that I could afford, so I could take movies of my beautiful grandbabies. The no video flash was not an issue for me. It does have a dock, so with some little research I am sure one would be able to find a universal light to use if needed. Easy to hook up to tv to watch playback or view as you record. Great resolution

awesome camcorder especially for the price. great picture and sound and easy to use. other reviews mention the lack of built in light. To me the light is not an issue, most built in lights are terribly weak. this camera has a universal receptor on top that will hold a high power light right on top of the camera which is far superior to a built in light. get this camera you won't be sorry.

This is a great camcorder - easy to use and lightweight, with a good picture. On my previous camcorder, I had to open the vewer to access the menu of buttons, of which there were too many. The controls on this Panasonic are all thumb-controlled; you don't even have to take your eye off the viewer. The picture quality is excellent.

My fault for not asking, but then again the customer rep wasn't very informative. I Purchased this palmcorder in May of this year to give to my daughter for her Birthday in June. She tried it out for the very 1st time video taping my grandaughter who was 9 months at the time and it was at night.........guess what? No light. I was very disappointed that it didn't have a built in light. I thought all camcorders came with built in lights........I didn't even bother to ask.......my fault for not asking. This product is priced way to high for the features that it lacks. DON'T FORGET TO MAKE A LIST AND ASK QUESTIONS!

I sord of have to agree with the last two consumers main reason for grading this product poorly, but it is still in my opinion a good camcorder overall for the price. Compared to other manufacturers who produce camcorders for around the same price. For what it lacks, it definitely makes up for it with the picture quality, in my opinion. Take this how you want to, but the less features something has, less the likely hood of it malfunctioning.

This is my first camcorder and I`m very happy with it. You can`t beat the price I payed after Thanksgiving. $149.00.I know it doesn`t have a light but I recorded in my basement with not much light on and the camcorder worked just fine. I`m impressed.

i enjoy recording with it. I also have told my other family memebers to buy one. For the price it is a very good camara and i like the detail on the outer casing of the camara
