Danish director Michael Noer’s remake of the 1973 film of the same name counts two autobiographies of French convict Henri Charrière as source material. Charlie Hunnam stars as the film’s titular protagonist: a Parisian safecracker shipped off to a life of hardship and misery in a penal colony in French Guiana. With the help of currency counterfeiter Louis Dega (Rami Malek), he bides his time while waiting for the perfect opportunity to escape.~Augustine Chay
This movie is definitely worth watching. It is dark and scary for those of us in this day and age. It shows how things once were if you did anything that would get you locked up. Having worked in the AZ DOC, I can tell you that the facilities have changed, but the inmates have not. They just live better than the guys portrayed in this movie.
I would recommend this to a friend

Great Addition To Our Movie Collection
My wife and I were able to see this movie in our local movie theater and were very happy we were able to purchase it at a good price from BestBuy and we are looking forward to watching it as often as we want.
