    Synopsis

    Paranoia
Director Robert Luketic and screenwriters Jason Dean Hall and Barry Levy team up to adapt author Joseph Finder's novel centering on a tech-savvy twentysomething who becomes a corporate spy for a scheming businessman. Determined to make the most of his new job at Wyatt Telecom, Adam Cassidy (Liam Hemsworth) is horrified when a felonious mistake earns him the wrath of unforgiving CEO Nicholas Wyatt (Gary Oldman). Typically, Wyatt's first response would be to throw a lawbreaking employee under the bus. But this time he's willing to cut a deal: Should Adam agree to infiltrate Wyatt Telecom's chief rival, the CEO will turn a blind eye to his employee's error. In no time Adam is climbing the corporate ladder straight to the top. No one suspects a thing, and Wyatt is gaining a distinct advantage over the competition. Later, upon realizing that his success is a mere illusion and he's become a simple pawn in a much bigger game, Adam hatches an ingenious plan to get out of his situation before it's too late. ~ Jason Buchanan, Rovi

This movies is about a young man attempting to climb the corporate ladder by involuntarily playing both sides of corporate espionage. The movie attempts to introduct too many side-plots and frankly the script is not that great. The movie should be watched for the great supporting performances of Gary Oldman, Richard Dreyfuss and Harrison Ford. This movie is noteworthy for Oldman's performance. The ultimate film chameleon Oldman sports his native-born, natural-speech English accent. He is particularly effective as the icey-cold businessman out to destroy Ford's rival company.

I wanted to see this movie after seeing the trailer advertised on tv. What I was most interested in was the intense rivalry portrayed by Harrison Ford and Gary Oldman. Both of these actors gave flawless performances in this movie. The characters were once partners and have become rivals who will stop at nothing to crush each other. Liam Hemsworth and Amber Heard's characters are caught up as pawns between Harrison and Oldman. This movie has an excellent plot along with excellent performances from Ford and Oldman.

It felt like they just wanted to make a movie about "modern day evil" "how new stuff can be scary", and they just put a story together and threw some A-class actors at it. It seems like noone who worked on it was trying all that hard. It could have been more meaningful, more complex, or just more entertaining. There are simply better movies in the genre. If you want something more complex try Tinker. Tailor, Soldier, Spy. If you want something better paced and entertaining there are plenty good James Bond films.

I'm glad I didn't watch this in the movie theater. This is one of those movies you want to wait until it comes out on DVD or Blu-ray. I would wait until the price is more competitive to purchase this. Good acting, cliché plot, and an expected outcome. This movie was just okay. Not horrible but not excellent either.

I honestly don't remember this being in the theaters but it is quite good. Not to many movies have Harrison Ford as the bad guy but he does well playing a rich corporate head who is not satisfied with just being wealthy buts wants it all. Good performances from all the main characters. A happy ending leaves you feeling good.

Just not that good of a movie. The plot is weak. Other than Harrison Ford and Gary Oldman, the acting is very subpar. First movie seeing Liam Hemsworth as as a lead and he wasn't impressive. If you can make it to the plot twist it might get better, but I turned it off halfway through. Just too bland. Thumbs down on this one.

The movie could have been about 15 minutes shorter. It also could have accepted as a given that the audience would be ahead of the plot and thus had some fun with perceptions and expectation. Ford and Oldman are wonderful as is to be expected. Could have been better but is worth a watch.

Intelligent powerhouse entities taking advantage of new smarts. Welcome to life. Why do smart people have to be taken advantage of to make it to the next level anyway? Sidebar the political view. The movie is an excellent watch.
