    One of Neil's Best

Neil Young sometimes hypes albums that tend to be letdowns, like the "Earth" album released earlier in 2016, but then releases surprise albums that are among his best. This is the case with "Peace Trail," released without fanfare in December. It is a minimal, mostly acoustic album, that combines elements of Living With War, Everybody Knows This is Nowhere, Trans, and On the Beach. It is simple but very powerful, with strong cultural and political lyrics.

I'm a Neil Young fan and have a lot of his music. There is nothing particularly wrong with this album but, it's also not particularly engaging. I listened to it twice and filed it away. Neil Young seems to be more interested in social and political commentary (not a bad thing) and not so much in making progressive music.

As a life long Neil Young fan, my wish is that he would go for quality over quantity. I like him questioning authority, but he needs to work on the arrangements and make some quality songs we will still be singing in twenty years. He puts things out so fast, hardly anything sticks anymore.

I'm a huge Neil Young fan and will always be. I understand music of the moment and chasing the Muse that is Neil's mantra. But this one seems mailed in to me. Really looking forward to some deep guitar when NY releases his recordings with Promise of the Real.

Like some of my favorite albums. First listen is "pretty good" but with each time listening and getting more familiar it gets better and better. The albums that grow and grow on you are the best albums and they don't get that burned out listening feeling.

I like the album, it shows once again that Neil is constantly changing and evolving musically to keep himself and his fans from getting bored. In true Neil Young style though, he still gets some of his environmental and political views out there.

Neil Young has been folk, rock, country, blues, metal and even ventured into electronica. He's back with another politically charged disc.He still proves he can rock in the free world and I look forward to where his music takes in the future.

Neil Young has a massive catalogue, and there's little bad that can be said about most of it. This album is true to form for Neil. A great set of songs expressing the world as he sees it unfold around him. No one does it like Neil Young.
