Enhance your Hue lighting system with this Philips Hue dimmer switch. Removing the control unit from the magnetic base plate lets you use it as a handheld remote, and the on button also adjusts Philips colors and set ambiance levels. Adjust light settings precisely with this wireless Philips Hue dimmer switch.
A: Yes, you absolutely can! We did this same setup with one remote being at the front of the house and one in the actual room where the lights are. Note, you must pair the remotes and the light bulb together. You should have one remote and light paired first, then you need to get the second remote paired to the first remote. Phillips Hue provided instruction to pair the remotes directly to each other by pointing them at each other and going through the process. I had better luck pairing them while extremely close-up to the bulb and the remotes pointing next to each other. It took a couple of tries for us to pair the remotes but that was because we were not nearly close enough to the light bulb when attempting to pair. Once paired it works fantastic.
A: Yes, as long as the main power switch is on you can use the remote or app.
A: The lights work with Alexa. The dimmer switch independently controls the lights. Two different controls for the lights that can perform the same functions
A: yes as long as you group all 4 lights together
A: If you already have a bridge and your smart bulbs are configured thru that bridge, you can just add this to the same bridge. There is no need to buy a separate bridge/hub. I have eight smart bulbs at home, and all are connected to just one bridge.
A: It’s a remote light switch for hue lights. You can use it without the bridge to control lights paired (connected) to the remote. If you use the bridge, you can also use the remote, for example for those times you don’t want to use the app or Alexa or google, and just want to push a button when you walk into the room (comes with a wall plate you can screw into the wall, the remote attaches to the plate using magnets).
Q: can you control a non Hue light with this?
A: Yes. As long as the bulb you want to control can be added to the Hue app, it can be controlled by Hue accessories.
Q: Does this work with any shop lights?
A: It MAY work to trigger the Hue smart plug, with your shop lights plugged into the smart plug. Directly controlling shop lights without any other devices is definitely not what it was designed for.
