Q: Do these lights work with Android phones and tablets?
A: Yes definitely, I currently use this starter kit along with even more hue lights and I control them all from my Galaxy s6 and from my Galaxy Tab S as well. I haven't had any issues at all so far and all functionality works without problems.
A: Hey. They are led bulbs that fit in normal sockets and allow you to remotely control the brightness and color of the bulbs via your smartphone. I use Apple products, and when linked to home kit, Siri can control your house's lights! You can choose from any color you could think of, as well as set them to music and certain color schemes. It's purpose is to be cool!! Lol. But, it has the feature of setting your lights to come on automatically when your away from home or when you actually come on. Walking in with groceries and simply asking Siri hands free to turn on my kitchen lights....Jetsons $h!@
Q: How many lights come with the starter kit?
A: You will receive three lights and a bridge in the starter kit all
Q: Is the bridge included with this kit the 1st or 2nd generation version?
A: Second generation. You can tell by the shape: first gen is round, second gen is square with curved edges. Also, bulbs included in gen 2 have 800 lumens, compared to 600 in gen 1.
Q: What is the warranty on these bulbs?
A: 3 year limited warranty.
Q: Can you control each of these 3 bulbs in the starter kit individually?
A: Using the Hue hub and the app on your tablet or smartphone you can and will be able to control each bulb individually. You can even do so with the Amazon Echo once you get it set up too.
A: It really depends on the purpose for the lights. I went for the color kit because I wanted to add some accent lighting to my living room, so I wanted the color for that purpose. Since getting the color kit, I have also added a few white only bulbs to the system, and where I put those (Kitchen, hallway), I didn't need to have color. If you are just looking for standard lights for a lamp or a bedroom, and have no need for color, there is no reason to spend the extra money on the color lights. If you want to add some great accent lighting and color washes on your walls to liven up a room, I would not hesitate to grab the color kit. You will be happy with either.
Q: Does Hue lamps work on 230 V?
A: No, this unit only operates on a 120V connection.
