Piranha [Blu-ray] [1978]

If you are in the mood for one of those classic campy horror movies - this one is a good choice.

A wonderful early horror film. Enough of a decent plot and plenty of icky chewing scenes. The sound of piranha school coming toward you is like the music in Jaws. A tidy little "B" horror film that does homage to Jaws.

This is pretty entertaining B movie from the late 70s. It was intended to be a Jaws parody and works well as one.

Following the trend of water related horror, fun movie that is worth watching.

This is a classic movie that I am happy to add to my horror collection. This film comes out after the success of Jaws movie which like all rip off movies tries to rake in the money for their version of a killer fish. Overall the film is a great film for all the cult classic horror film people out there. In terms of the blu-ray, that is the major let down. The video quality is probably the only good quality about the film. Nothing spectacular for a Blu Ray. The Audio is not upgraded, same mono sound you get a VHS or DVD. Personally if I knew this, I would have purchased the film on DVD. It IS NOT worth it for blu ray. Do yourself a favor, buy the DVD version, you are better off!

Joe Dante's Piranha is a fun, lightweight comical horror film. There's not much to it, but it's likable and funny.
