Good, but a word of caution
||Posted .I'm very happy with this headset but it differs a little bit from the pre-release reviews. IGN & Tom's hardware both suggested the basic headset comes with a secondary in-line mic, but it seems the basic headset ($130 at my time of purchase) only included the gaming (boom) mic. I contacted Plantronics and they shipped me the additional inline mic as a result of this- I'm not sure if I got lucky or if it was actually supposed to come with my model, but it's worth trying if you're also expecting the secondary mic. Also- my gaming mic started cutting out frequently and causing static to players in my party, but this might just be the risk of me being an early adopter- since it happened within the first 2 weeks of my purchase, bestbuy let me do a full exchange. Okay, with all the negative stuff out of the way, the sound is incredible on these headphones. This is the 4th headset I've tried for xbox one and the most impressive sound I've had so far. The direction of the sound is great, very responsive, and there is a noticeable difference with the three equalizer options (though setting 2 is my favorite by far). The headset is very comfortable and sturdy, and the gaming mic is just in the right place- nobody has complained about my audio levels. The mic has a great noise-cancelling feature so it turns on every time I speak, but it never picks up background sounds or breathing. The plantronics site suggests this headset has mic monitoring, and while that's not the case currently- Microsoft announced they're trying to add mic monitoring to the xbox OS so that should be a moot point once the feature goes active. The controller adapter is great (I use the independent audio setting, which allows one wheel to control game audio and the second wheel to control player audio), the fit is perfect and it's way faster to adjust volume on this than on the official xbox adapter. Despite the up front price and a few issues at the start, I'd definitely recommend this headset.

Big promises, a little short on the delivery
||Posted .Fit and finish of the headset is great, although I wish the mic boom was flexible. This is both a blessing and a curse, however. Sometimes, I feel more confident others can hear me if the mic were closer, but with it fixed away from my mouth, I don't sound like Darth Vader breathing. As for the adapter for the Xbox controller, the dials are loose and can move while being pretty active in competitive gaming. I'll accidentally shift the distribution of game noise and communications too far toward communications and lose some overall experience from my game. I wish they built that part better. I don't regret this purchase, but I probably won't keep it long enough to use the Best Buy warranty I bought with it either. If budget is your thing, these provide great quality sound, but if "money ain't a thang," then just get Astros.

Great first headset
||Posted .After doing much research, I found this headset to be the best rated for the price. The ear cups are comfortable but the headband does not have much padding and can tend to dig into the top of your head after playing for hours. The included adapter makes it great to adjust the game volume and mix in the chat volume. The sound is great and you can tell what directions sounds are coming from. Overall I am pleased with this headset.

It started out great but
||Posted .I really did like this headset, but I might have had a defective one because their we're times where I could not speak in game chat. I returned them and sadly got another headset. But I would still recommend these to anyone who wants to play above average gaming. To anyone who is looking for a headset I strongly recommend turtle beach 500X. They are a little bit expensive but they are way worth the money. Completely wireless and feel extremely comfortable for long hours. I usually play about 5 hours a days. During the weekdays.

Not amazing but it does the job.
||Posted .Lack of voice cancelling makes this headset somewhat less than desirable and since your unable to adjust the mic to avoid direct sound interference you will get a lot of complaints from people on the listening side. I found it odd that the actual mic was detachable, good if you just want a pair of headphones, but the fact that it connects via 3.5 mm jack to the headset and again 3.5 mm jack to the controller degrades voice quality a bit making you sound a bit static-y. Its solidly made however, I have dropped it a few times (mostly due to the cord that tangles up on itself CONSTANTLY shortening the length until you untangle it) and it still works just fine. Its relatively comfortable, anything more than an hour or 2 and your ears will start to hurt but not because of the padding, the cups your ears go into seem a bit too small. I dont think I have big ears but just wanted to point that out. At $129 bucks I think is a bit of a stretch, if these go on sale for under $60 then they would be good to have but only as a place holder for something better. In short - Pros: Solid, removable microphone, comfortable padding for at max 2 hours. Cons: No noise cancelling, sub par voice quality, price is a bit too much, ear cups a bit too small, cord tangles OFTEN.

Great, with two small exceptions
||Posted .This was my second headset purchase for my xbox one. I spend a decent amount of time every week playing destiny online, and I needed a way to communicate with my team since my previous headset's mic had broken. I read dozens of headset reviews before purchasing these. I loved the fact that I could plug my music in and listen to it while I played, and the adapter layout was great on these. The downside is that the mic on these kept cutting out after a while, and I would have to unplug and replug it in to get it working again. Really frustrating in the middle of a fight. The other downside is that the max volume is not very loud. The sound quality is okay, but nothing special. TL;DR - Pros: can add your own music in, and comfortable to wear Cons: not loud enough, mic fails frequently, no mic monitoring

Excellent headphones for the casual gammer.
||Posted .I am truly enjoying these headphones. Good sound, and friends report good voice quality. I like the XBox1 controller adapter. Being able to plug my phone in to listen to my own music while still hearing in-game effects is a fun experience. Headset is comfortable. Only real negative for me is that other than being slightly adjustable rubber the microphone is in a fixed down position, because of the connection. I'm happy with my purchase.

Good headset
||Posted .Great headset for the everyday player! Hooked directly the the control for a one wire setup. Sounds great and comfortable for long use . Only negative is that it don't get very loud like some of the other sets available, and I wish there was a way to be able to use it without the microphone being attached for use with your phone or ipod to listen to music.
