Best darn headphones for talking on the phone
||Posted .Owned for 1 week when reviewed.I mostly work from home as a software consultant and a lot of times I need to talk to customers on the phone. Working from home has a lot of perks but when I get bored sometimes or when Comcast internet is acting up, then I hit coffee shops or bars around my neighborhood. When I'm in coffee shops or bars, the background noises tend to carry through the phone and most times customers don't appreciate that. I've been searching and testing for headphones that will block background noises for phone conversations, but a lot of these new headphones concentrate on blocking background noises for your hearing by using some kind of digital white noise. Jabra was one of the first to offer active background noise cancellation back around 2006. And their latest is Jabra Elite 65T. Which I think does very well, but still leaks a lot of background noises during phone calls. Bose is coming out with Bose NCH 700 that is supposed to have the best noise cancellation for hearing and also background noise cancellation for phone calls. But that isn't out until the end of June 2019 and there aren't a lot of reviews on how this actually fares during phone calls. While researching for the best phone call quality on all headphones, because of my interest with Bose NCH 700, I came across two products that actually have the best background noise cancellation: BlueParrott B450-XT and this Plantronics Voyager 5200. Granted these are headset and aren't dual-eared headphones, but they are AWESOME for making phone calls that my customers don't know that I'm actually in a coffee shop, with the music glaring, blender whirring, and people talking in the background. These are even better than the pioneer Jabra headphones. Truthfully, the BlueParrott headset was the best at blocking background noises for phone calls, but I chose the Voyager because it's a little more conspicuous and doesn't make it look like I'm wearing a headset designed for playing video games. Batter quality is great, too. Although you should invest in buying the charger case as that will allow to store the earphone in the case and charging it at the same time. The only reason that I set it to 4 stars instead of 5 is because the voice notification telling you that it is on and connected to your devices doesn't come on when you already have the ear piece mounted on your ear. You have to turn it on, then place the ear piece on your ear and then the notification will tell you that the device is on. Maybe they can fix this with their next firmware. Just remember, this earphone is meant for phone conversations and not meant for audiophiles listening to music.

Review of Plantronics Vouager 5220
||Posted .Owned for 4 months when reviewed.I have been a fan of Plantronics Bluetooth headset for about 10 years now. I love the comfortability and discrete style. As well as the quality of sound as well as noise reductiom, durability & battery life. It also charges quickly. It is exceptionally easy to use I have recommended this product to numerous people And now many of my friends and family members also swear by this product too. It is an excellent product to purchase especially if you add the BESTBUY warranty protection on top of the manufacturer warranty...its a win win purchase everytime

Quality Changed & I Don't Recommend
||Posted .Owned for 1 month when reviewed.I no longer recommend this headset due to the change in quality. Over the past two years, the quality of this headset changed. I purchased my 1st headset in 2020, had no issues with it and was very pleased with it. Unfortunately I recently lost it in the airport and purchased a new one. Because my former headset was great, I purchased the same brand. To my surprise, after two weeks, the headset broke in the area that allows the headset to swivel. Fortunately it occurred within the 1st two weeks and I was able to return and purchase a new one. My confidence in this Plantronics headset allowed me to rationalize the issue was an exception and I purchased the same one again. Well, this time it made it 30 days and broke in the exact same spot. This time it was outside of the return period. I will not be buying another one.

5220, “sounds” appealing . . .
||Posted .I have been a fan of Plantronics products since 2008. I started with the Pro, moved on to the Legend, and once the 5220 came out, I just knew I had to have it. The Plantronics Bluetooth headset quality just keeps improving from generation to generation. If you are looking for a product with superior sound quality, amazing background noise cancellation, comfort via all day wear, long lasting battery life, easy to access micro USB charging port and just a stylish design then this headset is for you. If all of the prior mentioned “sounds” appealing, then the 5220 is a definite must buy.

NOT recommended
||Posted .Owned for 1 week when reviewed.I have owned the Plantronics Headsets (Legend; Voyager) for years, and have been exceedingly happy with their quality and their longevity. The sound quality and noise cancellation features of my recent purchase (Voyager 5220) seemed at least as good as my previous headsets; maybe even better in wind cancellation. (While it did come with a charging cord, and a car lighter plug-in, there was no plug-in for house charging. Perhaps we're all expected to have usb capable outlets?) I'll be returning my brand new fantastic headset that works so well because there is a rough seam in the body where it wraps around my ear; it is actually painful to wear, and has created a raw area. Referring to the photos: My previous headset is completely smooth, and has no evidence of a seam. On the new one, you can see the rough line of the seam.

Q: QuestionDoes anyone else have a problem with crackling and pops when listening to voice mail and making calls, or did I get a defective unit?
Asked by Joey.
- A:Answer I have the same issue and have replaced the headset 3 times with the same result unfortunately. The latest and greatest looks like the most expensive and poorest quality as well. This headset has constant breakup when on a call and the call quality is very bad. Time to look for a different solution after years of using plantronics, it seems that someone dropped the ball on the 5200 UC headset.

Q: QuestionUnbelievable, there's an accesory for the accesory? How do you charge the Bluetooth?
Asked by Anonymous.
- A:Answer Great question and this is one of the 5220's biggest improvements I think over the Voyager Legend which required a proprietary charger. It charges with any Micro USB charger!
Answered by Tolga
Q: QuestionWhat are the differences between this model and the previous Legend?
Asked by Val21.
- A:Answer The Voyager 5200 series includes NFC pairing and an additional microphone for improved noise cancellation and wind reduction compared to the Voyager Legend.

Q: QuestionDoes the case shown in the string of photos below the ear piece come with it?
Asked by Anonymous.
- A:Answer I called their customer service to ask the same question. When I heard "no" I told them their pictures are deceiving. They also should have an answer for "What is in the box". FYI for the 203500-01(Standard) the items in the box are: Headset, Get Started Guide, Safety booklet, Warranty insert, Small, medium, and large ear tips, USB to micro USB charge cable

Q: QuestionIt is advertised as having 7 hours talk time but I can only get 6 hours maximum, Is it defective?
Asked by Ed.
- A:Answer I drive oil trucks 12 hours a day and it never dies and I'm on and off the phone all day long, try only having the bluetooth setting on your phone set to call and not media, unless you need to hear every single sound your phone makes, if that doesn't work it might be

Q: QuestionHow does this feel wearing glasses and/or sunglasses? Does your ear get sore after a while? Having small ears and glasses sometimes is a problem finding a headset that is comfortable.
Asked by Anonymous2.
- A:Answer You can wear it while also wearing glasses. Unfortunately the comfort is subjective to the wearer. I find it comfortable using both, but not everyone may.
