Playstation All-Stars: Battle Royale is a game that I have been looking forward to all year, and while I'm glad I own it and I find it to be a fun game, I don't think that it has lived up to it's expectations. I really had high hopes for this game, and I still like the game, but I just can't help but feel a little cheated. The character roster is filled with characters that are only there soley to be advertized. For example, Dante from Ninja Theory's new interpretation of Devil May Cry and Raiden from Konami's Metal Gear Rising: Revengance; both of which are games that aren't even out yet. How could characters like this be considered "Playstation All-Stars" if their games aren't even out yet? The graphics look like something you would find on a PS2 or PSP, not a PS3 console. I think that Superbot should have delayed the game till next year to improve the graphics and add more content. Thankfully they have already announced some DLC characters that will be free for download the first week of their release come next year. Each character has their own story that they must go through in an arcade-like ladder, and I use the term "story" loosely, mostly due to the fact that each characters "story" is about as shallow as a kiddie-pool. The only good thing to come out of the arcade mode are the rival battles. Rival battles are different for each character. Basically, two characters from two different games engage in a heated battle towards the end of arcade ladder. Before each battle starts, a funny cutscene plays out showing the two rival characters bicker and insult each-other before the battle begins. For example Kratos knocking an ice-cream cone out of Sweetooth's hands. This is something that the game does right, the humor. The funny physical gags in the backdrops of certain stages for example. That is also one thing the game does right, the stage design is amazing ranging from more light-hearted stages like Franzea from Loco-Roco, to darker, more intense stages like San-Fransisco from Resistance 2. The combat in the game is great, and the each character plays differently, making the game have a whole lot of options too. I have found myself playing as Nathan Drake from the Uncharted franchise to be the most fun I've ever had with a character in a fighting game sense Pheonix Wrights inclusion in Ultimate Marvel vs Capcom 3. His moves represent what his game is all about, falling through random floors and zipping across zip-lines that appear in mid air is hilarious and fun. The online aspect of the game is great too! I can't tell you how many hours my friends and I have wasted playing 2v2 matches online against other people. It is more satisfying than you would ever believe. One last thing to note are the unlockables, which range from icons and background for your online player-card to character-specific items like costumes and victory music, and even little characters called "Minions" that are tiny versions of supporting characters from other Playstation games that cheer you on during a battle. The inclusion of these unlockables make the game's replay value much higher than I though it would be originally. In the end however, Playstation All-Stars: Battle Royale is just a fun party fighting game that may disappointing you, but is still worth your time. If you haven't already picked up the game, than I would just wait for a price-drop. It is a fun fighting game though, and a worthy addition to my ever-growing PS3 game collection.

This game is really the Sony version of super smash brothers and lives up to the expectation. Lots of characters and locations in which to fight, a great party game.

Easy fighting controlls/system makes it usable for beginners to master and it allows up to 4 people to battle at once which keeps everyone involved. Plenty of caracters to choose from with different fighting styles.
