Different sound, older fans may not like it

On this record, seasoned Helmet fans will not recognize this as the "Helmet" sound. Page Hamilton's vocals still sound fine, but the rest of the band's sound varies quite a bit. One can applaud Helmet for not cookie-cutting a "Meantime - Part 2", and perhaps being "experimental" in that sense. On the other hand, they may listen to this record and say, 'what the heck happened to Helmet?!' There's not a great deal of classic Helmet hard-rock on here. This is not anything like "Meantime" or "Betty". Generally though, there may be some things to like on here as long as you're not expecting another 90's style Helmet record.

I would argue Norma Jean are pretty much the premiere metalcore band. Corey has led the ever changing group through several masterpieces already, with Polar Similar adding to their excellent catalog. I wouldn't necessarily expect something super ground breaking, but the band has a knack for nailing every piece of the song with passionate energy. If you have enjoyed most or all of the band's music thus far in their career, there's nothing to disappoint you here.

Before purchasing this record I really didn't know who Norma Jean are so I took a gamble and ended up liking the record. As usual with more time hearing the record one can enjoy it more. Still I would highly recommend this if you love hard rock and are looking for something different this year.

I love Norma Jean, but a few of their albums are greater than some of their others. On this one in particular, they've grown very dynamically. It's brutal, it's gentle, it's real. Truly one of their best efforts.

Great sound and recording for a heavy metal fan. They can only improve and every heavy metal fan should want to know this first effort. Hope they can repeat the high quality of performance. Worth the purchase.

Got into these guys from the Wrongdoers album and have been a fan since. This one is similar to the previous with odd interludes. This band is definitely underrated. Hope they more attention from this album.

I can't even believe how great this album is. Very similar to the last two Meridional and Wrongdoers, it's a great blend of massively heavy metalcore and melody. A truly great album for catharsis.

O God... was an album I never thought would be topped, but they have managed to far surpass that album. Every track is perfectly crafted and the musicianship and lyrics are top notch.
