I really enjoyed this CD because it has shown that Deeds Of Flesh have expanded their song writing beyond their normal sound. It is not a complete departure for the band. So don't let that scare you off but this is not "Trading Pieces" or "Gradually Melted" either. This album is VERY MUCH Deeds Of Flesh but the elements they added have made them even better! They will also challenge you as a listener (in a good way). This development was also hinted on their last album "Of What's To Come". The songs are very well written and thought out. So this release is definitely worth the wait! On this album they expanded the technicality of their song writing while keeping their patented formula in tact. Not that their old formula did not work. I felt that they were one of the best in the field but this will allows them to separate themselves from their piers. Now, with this new direction I can understand the need to continue to challenge yourself as a musician. It might take another album to refine this formula they have expanded to but there is definitely more good then bad on here. It might take a few more listens then normal to absorb the increased technicality on this releases but I have grown to enjoy it more with each listen. This however is nothing like Morbid Angel's "new sound". So do not think I am referring to that direction change at all because I hated that! The production and playing on this album are excellent! They cover "Orphans Of Sickness" by Gorguts. So enjoy!

One of the best Death Metal bands out there. This album seems to be inspired by John Carpenter's The Thing. I love that film and I love this CD!!!
