Hollow Cheap Plastic Stand that Works Well

For an all plastic stand with charging capabilities, this stand is overpriced by $10-15 dollars in my opinion but its a nice stand that will work well with my setup. I just got this PS VR stand yesterday (3 days before I am supposed to get my PS VR headset) and it appears to be well made but consisting of cheaper plastic materials than I was expecting. I knew the thing was going to be made of plastic, but I didn't expect the quality of the plastic to be as low as it is (meaning... it's not as solid as I thought it was going to be and seems like cheap hollow plastic that snaps together and is rather lightweight and not very substantial for the high price of $49.99). Since the PS VR is new and just launching, prices will naturally be higher on such accessories until the market gets flooded with this stuff and the stand no longer sells well at the initial price. Once I get my PS VR I will post some pictures of the PS VR on it as well as everything on the stand but right now I only have the 2 Move controllers and one DS4 on it. So the stand properly charges my 2 Move controllers as well as my DS4 but the method to charge the DS4 seems like it is not fully charging it since there is no click of the connection like you would get from plugging in the charge cable from the PS4 to your DS4, although you don't get that click of the cable connecting to your DS4 it is properly charging your controller just fine. One nice thing that I really like is that the stand has charging capabilities that will free up my USB ports - which one of the ports will be needed for the PS VR and the other I use for my PS Elite headset dongle, so this prevents me from having to unplug stuff and plug charging cables into the PS4 or elsewhere. I also like that this stand will keep everything nice and neat and contained to one area within my entertainment cabinet (as neat as humanly possible considering all of the cables that the PS VR has). If you're putting this stand within your entertainment cabinet, be sure to have plenty of room above your stand (approximately 13" - 16" high) since it stands pretty tall (the spec on this is 13.4 x 9.4 x 5.5 inches; 1.9 pounds - without any accessories or the PS VR on top of it) and will need even more space once you put the PS VR on it. Overall I would recommend getting this since it does a good job of displaying everything nicely, tidying up your entertainment area, charging your Move controllers and DS4, and keeps your PS VR off of the floor or tangled up in your entertainment center wiring. Although, if you can wait it out you may want to get the PS VR stand that is $15 dollars cheaper or just wait until the price of this goes down. Once I get my PS VR I will update this review and attach some pics of everything on the stand within my entertainment center cabinet.

    Average Accessory

It's a pretty average accessory. It does what it is supposed to and charges the move controllers and a single dual shock controller. I've read some complaints about the PSVR not fitting well but I don't have that issue at all. The dual shock controller fits well and is easy to ascertain that it is well seated and charging. The move controllers are very "loosey goosey" though. They just don't sit well into the divots they are intended to sit in. This initially led me to question if they were charging. After having the station for a few weeks though, I've become pretty accustomed to just dropping the controllers in the divots and rocking them around until they seat completely. It doesn't take any extra force, just some finesse. Also worth nothing that the move controllers don't appear to charge unless they really need it. I've used them for an hour session before, put them on the charger, but the charging lights don't come on. This lead me to believe the charger wasn't working, but the reality is, the controllers just didn't need to be charged.

Functionality - 3 stars - could be too tall for some entertainment shelves. This needs to be on top of the entertainment center. Also, should have had a spot for an another regular controller charging port. Price - 3 stars - too expensive for a molded piece of plastic Convenience - 5 stars - it is nice having everything there and ready for you I was not too impressed with this stand. It is nothing fancy really. Some molded plastic with the ability to charge your wand move controllers and one regular remote. It is easy to put together and get plugged in. Everything fits on it and charges your remotes. The headset sits in it really nice and secure. I am surprised though at how much they are charging for this accessory. This is definitely a monopolized accessory. From what I have been able to find, it is the only Sony licensed stand for the VR headset which means they can charge what they want. In retrospect, I would have been better off finding a generic VR headset stand online and keep the remote chargers I already have. It looks cool elevating the headset like that though. I am on the fence on whether I would recommend a friend buy it. If you already have a charging station for your remotes, don't buy it. If you don't and have a VR, then I think it is a good option to get it.

After reading some mixed reviews regarding this PSVR stand, I decided to give it a shot. There are a couple great things about this product, but unfortunately they're overshadowed by its flaws. Pros - Great looking stand! When it works (see below), it showcases your headset and accessories like no other. I was also pleasantly surprised at how well the PS Move controllers fit, even with the hand straps attached. Cons - Many of the reviews I read complained that the curved headset rest didn't actually hold the headset properly and would cause it to slide down on the stand. The first time out of the box, I noticed that this would be a constant worry for me, as the weight of the headset causes it to creep down lower and lower over time (I set it on correctly at night and when I woke up the next morning, it had slid down considerably). Is this really a problem? Well, since the headset doesn't actually fall off the stand, maybe not. However, I'm not willing to have my $400 headset take the extra stress and strain put on it while I'm not even using the product. Aside from the drooping headset, I found that it was a little tricky to get the controller lined up correctly on the base in order to charge it. Furthermore, once in place, the unit seemed to charge the controller very slowly. Overall I decided that, for the money, this wasn't worth it. So, I returned it to BB and got my money back. I found another product that was considerably cheaper and had plenty more positive reviews. So far, I'm happy with my decision.

    Questioning the Quality

I purchased this for the PS VR set I invested in with my daughter for her birthday. It feels relatively flimsy when putting it together, but it does hold the mask, handheld pieces and one controller. My main qualms about it are that the charging port that is supposed to be pressed down for the controller on the front doesn't actually secure the controller on the charger, so if you bump it even slightly after putting it on there, it doesn't charge. Second, the handheld joysticks are hard to tell if they're secured to charge also. You have to put them down in the holes, then gently guide them around until you see the red light come on to tell you they're charging. Again, there isn't anything to secure them to the charger, so if you bump the controller or the base, it knocks it off alignment and they don't charge. Overall it is an ok accessory, but not mindblowingly convenient. It is nice to have a place to store the VR mask without being worried about it being tossed into a cabinet or something when it's put up after playing, but I'm not entirely sure it's worth $50 either. This would be much more reasonably priced around $15-$20. It's not $50 worth of convenience.

Well when you have an awesome VR Setup that you are on constantly you want to make sure you have a stand that can charge the Motion Controllers (Which you will use a lot in the VR Games), A spot for at least 1 Wireless Controller (Also used a lot in the VR Games) AND FINALLY a resting place for the VR headset when not in use. This stand was priceless lol and works like a charm. It is the perfect companion for a heavily addicted VR Player. Only Gave it 4 (But would like to say 4.5 stars because the VR helmet does seem to slip down on the stand if you do not place it on there just right. I think if the Forehead side of the rest was just a little farther out by 1/4 in or so that it would be a much better fit for the headset and not allow for slippage. Note i have only had that happen ONCE in a while, but i noticed when i put the back of the headset in first and THEN rest it on the front (forehead side of the rest) it does tend to stay 96% of the time without slipping. Overall Very happy with Purchase and would recommend this product to anyone with the VR Headset and Motion Controllers. Great Combo!

    Stores your PSVR nicely...

I bought for our PSVR and must say that even though the plastic is not a sturdy as one would think, it does hold the headset securely. For the reviewers that stated the headset did not fit- adjust it as you would putting it on your head. The dualshock controller charges easily and does "click" if you do it correctly. However, the charging points for the Move Controllers leave something to be desired. No click- no lights- nothing. But it does charge- albeit slowly. We have a older, "cheap" Insignia Charger for 4 Move Controllers for my son's PS3 that lights up neon (Red- charging, White- completed) that puts this charger to shame. It charges them in literally half the time. If you can find one of them and plan on playing some serious VR, I would highly recommend grabbing one.

    LOVE VR but......

I love VR but the only thing that I don't love is the lack of 1080P in both eyes for this headset it uses one 1080P screen that then splits that to both eyes so you get a image that is less then true 1080P when viewing. this allows you to see the pixels which takes away from the immersion factor.... 4K would be nice in the next headset ha-ha Also My headset suffers from screen creep when using VR and Cinema mode what this is if you don't know is when you start out with the screen right in front of you and then slowly over time the position of the screen will more until soon your whole head is turned just so you can look straight. This then requires you to just look straight ahead again and then recenter the screen with the select button..... its just annoying and can ruin some fast pace games like Battle tank VR which doesn't like to recent the screen properly when required......
