Works like you would imagine a 2 controller charger to work. Place the chargeable batteries into the battery slot in your controllers and place the battery cover. There is a small slit on the cover that has the gold connectors that attach to the charging station. Just set your controllers on the charging station and it starts charging and it'll be fully charged in 2 hours. You'll never have anymore downtime waiting to charge controllers! On the charging station, red light means it's charging, green light means it's fully charged. The battery life is about 6-8 hours per charge, but you can always buy the rechargeable batteries separately too. FYI, this comes with two pairs of rechargeable 1100 maH batteries, capable of charging two controllers, which is a plus.

Bought this since I didn't want to be buying batteries every time they died. it comes with two battery packs/covers and the charging station. While the controls are on charging the it lights up red and when they're done it goes green.
