    Synopsis

    Problem Child
An adoptive parent discovers that some children are given up by their biological parents for very good reasons in this dark comedy. Ben Healy (John Ritter) is a pleasant but brow-beaten yuppie working for his father Big Ben (Jack Warden), a tyrannical sporting goods dealer. Ben would love to have a son, but his wife Flo (Amy Yasbeck) has been unable to conceive. Ben approaches less-than-scrupulous adoption agent Igor Peabody (Gilbert Gottfried) with his dilemma, and Igor presents Ben and Flo with a cute seven-year-old boy, Junior (Michael Oliver). However, Junior is hardly a model child; mean-spirited and incorrigible, the child leaves a path of serious destruction in his wake, and is even pen pals with Martin Beck (Michael Richards), a notorious serial killer. After the cat ends up in the hospital, the house catches on fire, and Junior displays his effective but unethical method for winning in Little League, Ben is having serious doubts about Junior when Beck escapes from jail and decides to kidnap his faithful correspondent, along with Junior's new mom. Problem Child proved to be a major box office success, spawning two sequels and a TV series. ~ Mark Deming, Rovi

Its a funny movie although it could easily offend anyone. You have to not take it seriously. Every character in the movie is ridiculous, just keep in mind there is not one character to take seriously anywhere. Even the parrot is a joke character. Every single aspect of the movie takes comedy to another level of ridiculousness. The PG rating for this movie is almost unbelievable since there is some much offensiveness on display such as language, violence, and nudity. It could have been R rated if they turned up the offensiveness just a bit more. I guess they rated it PG thinking its a cartoonish type of atmosphere. But the subject matter and comic satire seems more for adults. Also Bad to the Bone will return you to the early 90s and remind you of Terminator 2 which came out a year later.

Pros: A favorite that I watched at the drive in theater when it came out. Finally gets release in Blu. Cons: Picture still needs more cleanup & that’s watching it on a calibrated OLED. It’s washed down & too dark. Better than the dvd that was worst. Still with a 2.0 No new 5.1 surround

I've been waiting YEARS for a widescreen version of this. A while back, I got a dvd set that had it in widescreen, but the quality wasn't that great. The only bad thing I can say about THIS release is that it doesn't have any extras like a commentary. It doesn't even have a trailer for the movie. But that's okay. The movie is great enough without any extras. Those would just be a bonus.

This is a blast from the past. It's a movie I highly enjoyed growing up and I look forward to revisiting it. The thing that keeps this movie from getting 5 stars is the lack of special features. If you're familiar with the tv cut of this movie, there's scenes that weren't included in the original cut , those scenes are nowhere to be found in this set

This is a great blast from the past full of wild antics that no parent should ever have to endure. Shows all the stages a parent who refuses to believe their child is bad goes through...denial, disbelief, anger, frustration, And the point where you actually consider harming them

This was a childhood favorite of me and my brother so when I saw it I just had to get it. The transfer is soso in regards to the audio and video but this is not the type of movie you buy looking for a razor sharp transfer. For what it was, this blu ray is good.

This movie was a whacky fun, nostalgic ride from my childhood years. I was about the same age as Junior, the rascal of the film when this one came out in the early 90s. The HD transfer could have been a bit better but for the bargain price, I'm not complaining

I haven't watched this film in years and was so happy to see it released on blu-ray. It still holds up and is laugh out loud funny. Sure miss John Ritter too, a great comedian we lost too soon. Picture quality was decent for a comedy of that era, decent transfer.
