Review of the ProForm carbon EL elliptical machine
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Nice elliptical machine. Feels very sturdy while using it. I like the ability to use different resistance levels as well as switching the incline to target different muscle groups. You can use this model with or with out the ifit wifi option. I purchased it on sale. Good value for the price. I would recommend purchasing the set up in any room and haul away of your old machine if needed.

Great buy...
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The elliptical arrived when it was supposed to. I am a 50 year old female and was able to put it together by myself. The paperwork indicates you have to register on ifit but all you have to do is hold down the blue button for several seconds and it activates without subscribing to their workout plan. The elliptical is NOT stable as indicated in other reviews. I plan to work on seeing if I can fix that. Overall it's worth the $599 I paid for it.

Good luck with IFIT subscription-not
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The machine itself I give 5 stars. I assembled myself- very easy. I am no way a wrench person so IF can do it-so can you. A bit heavy so you need a second person to help lift. Works great just like the ones in the gym! My only complaint- IFIT only gave me 1 month free trial. However BB & ProForm indicate 12 months free with purchase of elliptical. After several emails to IFIT sending all the proof they ask for- I gave up waiting for a fix. I will never use them!

Great Machine but not easy to build
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is an excellent elliptical with a few faults. First, it pedals smooth, has a large easy to read display and doesn’t take up a lot of space. Second, my body doesn’t care if it’s burning calories on this machine or one that cost 3x more. Calories burned is the end goal and this machine does that well. Now for the negatives. I consider myself handy and own a lot of tools. I used both of those while building it. I needed help lifting it and getting the feet under it to attach. Also, like someone else mentioned, the lowest setting was difficult so I had to watch some YouTube videos and adjust the magnet near the wheel to provide a more realistic resistance. I left the swinging arms off of mine because I don’t use them. I hold the handles with heart rate monitor and the arms just get in the way or hit me when I reach for the remote or water bottle. I will include some pictures to show you how much assembly is required.

Frustrating and
||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is pretty frustrating... First, I too was duped into thinking that I was getting a full year of the Ifit membership upon purchasing this product, but no I only got the 30 days. Second, the power adapter snapped while I was working out... SO... Now the thing is not even working at all... Trying to find a replacement power adapter, but as of right now, I may be sending the whole thing back.

We are sorry if this wasn’t more clear when you were ordering. Can you give us more information on where the power adapter snapped? This is an uncommon situation that we would like to look into.
Please contact us directly at: ce@proform.com so we can look further into the problem you are experiencing with your power adapter. Your personal case ID number is: 1-R100243. We look forward to getting your elliptical up and running as soon as possible.

Q: QuestionI would like to know what the step up height is on this machine so I can determine if my ceiling is tall enough. It's a basement ceiling, so a little lower than normal.
Asked by sepoe.
- A:Answer With the elliptical pedals at neutral position (equal height from the floor) the distance from the floor to the pedals is 14.75 inches. The maximum height of the pedal is 19 inches from the floor to the pedal.

Q: QuestionIs this machine a glider or is it a step machine?
Asked by Peach.
- A:Answer Peach This elliptical's foot petals move in a circular motion that is not back and forth like a glider or up and down like a stepper. Instead, the foot pedals form an elliptical rounded step. As you shift your weight from foot to foot, your step will move forward slightly, down and back up slightly in an elliptical motion. Please let us provide further information as needed by reaching out to [email protected]. Thanks - ProForm

Q: QuestionIF NOT USING IFIT, DOES IT GIVE YOU DISTANCE, TIME TRAVELED AND CALORIES BURNED ON DISPLAY SCREEN???
Asked by Anonymous.
- A:Answer It does. However, the display rotates among screens so you have to wait for your choice to come up. I don't know how to stop that.

Q: QuestionI am very petite under 5' tall. Would this machine be too big for me?
Asked by Spring51.
- A:Answer I measured the pedal to the stationary handlebars and 5 feet is more than sufficient to reach them. There is another set of handlebars that moves your arms back and forth and this is below the stationary handlebars. They are both well within your reach. The pedals are big but they are stationary meaning that where you put your foot is where your foot is going to stay. It's not going to flop or move from one side to the other. I like the pedals because they give you a range of motion to choose from. It all depends on where you are comfortable putting your feet. Like, the pedal is big enough so that you can put your foot way ahead of the other foot and this will increase your range of motion. Or you can place your feet as close as possible to each other and this gives you another option. These pedals grip shoes pretty good. The machine is pretty sturdy and in my opinion, your height is no problem whatsoever. If you have any other questions, please don't hesitate to ask. I'm glad to be of help.
