Protocol - Dronium One RC Drone - Orange/Black

I bought this to learn to fly drones. It is pretty stable once you learn to make small movements and not over control it. The drones takes pretty good video images. The still photos however are poor with a painting like quality that has a unique effect. It is pretty crash resistant over all and can survive quite a fall. It is easy to lose control of it if you fly higher than about 50'. You are limited to only as 7 Min. flight after an hours worth of charge time. I lost control of it on a flight after, after climbing to over 60' to shoot a picture. The drone went straight up and kept climbing until a gust of wind hit it and blew it even farther away. I reversed course and cut the power with no results. I shut off the control box and it began to descend. I have no idea where it finally landed, in some ones back yard on top a house in a residential area. At only 8 inches across it is easy to loose sight of it and to determine which way it is going. Being unable to find it, it was lost for good. So, I bought another one, decided not to fly it so high.

Online reviews/youtube of the Dronium One, as well as the pictures on its PACKAGING's PHOTO's -- suggest that you one can stream the video via wifi to your smartphone (the reason on purchased this model). However that BIG feature got removed from BestBuy's version of "Dronium One"... and there's no streaming capability, and no smartphone APP interface! :(

For the price it is an excellent beginner model. Flight time is about typical BUT the REMOVABLE battery is a huge plus for this price point drone as you CAN buy additional batteries directly from manufacturer and keep the fun going longer. Just ordering new batteries after trying it a bit first. Only negatives so far are: 1. the wires to each prop can pop out of channel and pinch so u need to keep an eye on them and push back in to protect, as they are fragile. Camera quality is only so-so but I guess for the price you can't really expect much more. Also, Didn't know there was a special edition wifi version though that I probably might have chosen instead.

Overall this is a nice little drone, fairly easy to fly even for a 6-year-old. I wish it had a headless interface, as it can be difficult to determine the direction of the craft during flight. It has a camera that takes OK stills and video, as long as you don't expect to capture that perfect shot or action video you will be satisfied. Overall for the price, it's not a bad toy.

My husband and I were looking for a drone to give his grandfather that he could use with his current RC. We were looking for something that was easy to fly, yet still had some functionality that his aviation loving grandfather would enjoy. This one fit the bill and had good reviews and so far his grandfather has really enjoyed it

My favorite aspect of this drone are the crash resistant materials. I have flown this drone many times and I have crashed it many times. It still works wonderfully. Only complaint is the sensitivity of the controller.

This is a fun little drone to play with that seems to be pretty rugged. I plan on purchasing a larger more expensive drone for my business however I wanted to try out a small one first and get the feel. This one is small enough to fly indoors without an issue to learn how to manipulate a drone. For the price you can let your kids fly it as well and not worry too much about it being damaged. It comes with spare parts for the hard crashes as your learning.

This is my first Drone and is a great for the first time user. With the built in camera it takes ok pictures but the video camera is pretty nice. It's easy to hook up to your computer and download them all. The control isn't too difficult to get the hang of,
