Punisher: War Zone [Special Edition] [Includes Digital Copy] [Blu-ray] [2008]

I loved the ludicrous cartoonish violence and the colorful villains. Looney Bin Jim is a brilliant creation and I really couldn't help rooting for him. The movie wastes none of your time on corny romance, contrived self-serious angst, or other things people don't ask for when they are in the mood to watch a movie like this. Instead, this film delivers over-the-top outrageous fantasy violence from start to finish, only taking a few breaks for scenery-chewing acting and hilarious dialogue. If you're a fan of all that, this film's got some really memorable scenes for you.

This movie is incredibly stupid in the best possible way. Much more faithful to the comics than the bland 2004 movie, this one is absolutely nuts, and while not technically good filmmaking, is a great guilty pleasure.

If you like the Punisher comics, especially the Garth Ennis era stuff this is for you. I have never seen any comic movie capture the books so well as this movie. It used so many characters from the books. The film absolutely respects the books. I like that. My biggest complaint about the Peter Jackson Lord of the Rings movies were the aberrations from the central themes of the Tolkien's original work. The Dark Knight trilogy are better films than this one, I admit, but the changes those movies made from the comics was not fundamentally/thematically different. This movie is the quintessential Punisher. This movie doesn't seem to assume you don't know about the Marvel characters involved, but you don't need to have read dozens of issues of The Punisher to get it either. Not for the squeamish. Don't let the kids watch this. It presents head-on the Punisher's fight fire with fire-power ideal. If you like the Punisher books see it. If not you might like it as an action movie.

Entertaining. Obviously not deeply intellectual material but definitely entertaining for those not put off by violence/a little gore.

My friend Will bought this movie and he really liked it. Sometimes he buys movies and doesn’t even open them.

If you are a Fan of The Punisher and enjoy 4k this is a must own.. it looks very good .. i highly recommend the upgrade from the blu ray format before it

Marvel has done quite a few versions of Punisher for movies, TV, and cartoons... but THIS is the first one that REALLY NAILED THE CHARACTER!!! Ok yeah, I LOVED the cable series - except at the season end... he LET himself get beaten to a pulp just to get some bad guys arrested. THAT IS THE EXACT OPPOSITE IF HOW PUNISHER OPERATES AND WHAT HE REPRESENTS!!! So the series was GOOD, but tripped over it's own feet at the end smh. But THIS MOVIE - YEAH, NOW (THIS) IS THE PUNISHER!! I'd actually seen it many years ago at the theater and remember liking it - that's what made me buy it. But watching it again TODAY - AT HOME - IN 4K - WITH A LAP FULLA PIZZA!! :-P WAYYYY BETTER THAN I REMEMBER IT!! If you like Punisher, THIS is the one to get!! :-)
