Yes, this phone has a dual SIM slot and it is network unlocked, so you can use it with more than one compatible GSM carrier. Please check with your carrier to make sure that its network is accepting GSM phone. As for the taking pictures, buying an extra SD card will allow you to store more pictures. SD memory card is for storing pictures, while a SIM card is for your network service. Make sure that you insert the SD card into the correct slot and it is formatted as portable memory. I didn't use it overseas yet but this phone is unlocked and it will be ok to use for overseas which uses any the simcard. This phone has 2 slots for 2 different simcards. In addition, you can add additional micro memory for additional spaces to store your pictures. Hope it helps
