  • Q: Where do you put fabric softener?  (6 Answers)

    By Mndy

    • Best answerYou have to wait until the washer gets to the "final rinse" cycle, open the lid, and pour the fabric softener into the tub. Very inconvenient because you have to wait around & figure out when it is in the final rinse. The cycle light only tells you it is in the rinse cycle, and I don't know how to tell if it is a "final rinse" or not.

  • Q: Can the lid be open during the wash cycle like my old kenmore?  (6 Answers)

    By Rags

    • Best answerYOU CAN OPEN THE LID DURING THE WASH CYCLE BUT IT WILL STOP TEMPORARILY WHEN LID IS OPEN, BUT IT WILL CONTINUE THE WASH CYCLE AFTER LID IS CLOSED AGAIN. IT DOESN'T LOCK AFTER LID IS CLOSED WHICH I LIKE.

  • Q: Is it possible to know how many prongs are on the power plug that comes with this washer? 3 or 4?  (6 Answers)

    By Dab

    • Best answerThe power plug is a standard 3-prong plug that plugs into a regular household electric outlet. (It's my understanding that only electric dryers require special electric, but not washers.) Attached is a photo of the actual plug on my washer's cord

    • Best answerThere is an attachment that you can order from Amana's website. I believe it's about $20. I'm using a Downy Ball that I picked up at the grocery store and I haven't had an issue.

  • Q: Does this washer fill with water like my old school washer?  (5 Answers)

    By Whysohard

  • Q: what button to push for soaking before the wash sycle?  (2 Answers)

    By summer

    • Best answerThere isn't a button to push for soaking before the wash cycle. However, as the manual mentions, you can hit the start/cancel/pause button once the washer has filled the basin with water. Hitting the start/cancel/pause button once the basin has filled with water will give you any amount of time to let your garments "soak." If you pull up the washer door after hitting the start/cancel/pause button then you will only have 10 minutes to soak before the washer thinks you have abandoned the wash cycle and the washer will drain out the water and sit there until you restart the whole wash cycle again. I recommend starting your wash cycle as you normally would, then hitting the start/cancel/pause button (do not open the lid) once the basin has "filled", and let the clothes sit for the length of time you desire. After your clothes have soaked for a time, press the start/cancel/pause button to resume your previously selected wash cycle.
