  • Q: Can this unit work on a CPAP station?  (2 Answers)

    By Jake

    • Best answerThank you for inquiry. This UPS should support your CPAP station. The unit would support 360 watts of equipment attached to it. I would just confirm with the CPAP manufacture that it doesn't draw over that. Also please do note that we do not recommend using our UPS with life saving devices.

    • Best answerSearch engines are your friend. Querying "APC BN650M1" autocompletes (since it's such a common request) to "apc bn650m1 replacement battery", see screenshot. Of course, your model number may be different, but you'll get the same type of result. In answer to your question, it's a sealed lead-acid battery and prices vary substantially by retailer, but amusingly enough, the prices are just a bit below just buying a whole new UPS. Maddeningly, APC does not even list the BN650M1 (one of their biggest sellers at retailers all around the country) as a current device, but instead they helpfully offer to take it as a trade in and sell us another one at "substantial discount" which is higher than retail. Ahhh yes: Give away the razor to sell the blades.

    • Best answerThank you for your inquiry. This BN650M1 will support a full load (360W) for 2 minutes of runtime. Below is a link to the runtime chart for this model, runtime is based on the connected wattage load.

  • Q: Will this protect against thunderstorm power surges and outages?  (10 Answers)

    By Moses

    • Best answerYes. There are various options for providing protection during thunderstorms etc, and an UPS is the best choice since it provides the most protection: - brownouts - power sags - power spikes - power outages (up to 30 minutes)

  • Q: Can the battery be replaced in this UPS?  (5 Answers)

    By Memo

    • Best answerYes, there is a replaceable battery in the unit. That was one of my first questions, too. The battery "type" is listed in the instructions.

    • Best answer650 VA (or about 520 watts, considering a power factor of 0.8) represents the total power available for use.

  • Q: Master enable light is flashing. How can I reset the unit? Manual available online?  (2 Answers)

    By Sylvr

    • Best answerThank you for your inquiry. I am sorry to hear of the issues you are facing with our UPS. The BN650M1 wouldn't have a master enable light on it so I believe you are referring to the BE750G instead. You can reset the unit by removing any equipment from the unit, disconnect the unit from the wall then disconnect the internal battery. You would then want to hold the on button for around 5 seconds. You can then reconnect the internal battery and plug the UPS back into the power outlet then power it on. Below is the link for the manual for reference the BN650M1. Please do not hesitate to contact an APCbySchneider support team if you need any further assistance. We offer email and chat services through our support site and you may also contact us directly at 800-800-4272 option 4.

  • Q: I actually want to use this or a similar ups for my sump pump....doable?  (3 Answers)

    By johnnie

    • Best answerYou need to do some research and calculations to know whether the UPS would operate a sump pump. The electrical characteristics of the pump motor must be matched to the electrical characteristics of the UPS. The pump motor will draw more current (amps) when the pump is started than the current required after starting. The UPS must able to provide the required starting current. The capacity of the UPS battery must be specified to run the pump for the amount of time you need. You should probably contact the UPS manufacturer, provide a specification sheet that provides the electrical characteristics of your sump pump and specify how long the UPS must power the pump. With this information, the UPS manufacturer can recommend a suitable UPS for your application.
