A:AnswerYes this is the newest base model. There is a faster model with more features (the touch bar version). Depending on the actual model number this MacBook design was produced in 2016/2017. I recently purchased one and it was the 2017 model. Apple will likely announce a new version within the next year, though this probably won't be out until 2019
