The newer MacOS laptops come with RAM that's soldered onto the motherboard, and Apple says the drives can't be replaced. This means, according to Apple, you cannot upgrade to more RAM or a bigger drive later (you can, of course, purchase an external hard drive if you need more storage space), There may be ways to do this, and void the warranty in the process, but it would be risky at best.
