If the battery is dead, it won't turn on. After you plug in the power adapter, if it still doesn't turn on, try a different outlet. If it still doesn't turn on, try a different power supply (adapter, charger). If it still doesn't turn on, the motherboard (or the memory sticks) may be damaged. In that case, have a computer technician take a look at it.
