A:AnswerI have this asus q524u laptop and have taken the back off several times (replaced battery). It needs a T5 torx screwdriver. T6 is too big and T4 may be usable in a pinch but is really small.
A:AnswerHi, thats a good question, this laptop is a good work horse i mean i run blender (animation editor), opera browser, and virtual box with ubuntu on it all at once, and i dont see any issues yet. hope that helps....
A:AnswerIts located inside the machine... a few screws and the rear cover pops off and there you will see the battery, easy replacement even for the not so compute savy person. Even You Tube will show the easy steps for replacement
A:AnswerWould not suggest upgrading t a 128GB SSD. That would leave you little left for your own data. I would suggest getting at least a 250. Not possible to keep the 2TB drive, only 1 SATA port to use. Upgrading to the SSD is easy, remove all the screws on the bottom of the laptop. Remove the two hidden screws under the back feet. Carefully pull the bottom away from the unit. Remove the screws for the hard drive. Carefully remove the SATA port from the drive. Do the reverse after installing the SSD. Installation of Windows, on another machine, download Windows Media creator, and create bootable flash drive using at least an 8 GB drive.
This device doesn't have an m2 slot. Adata makes decent hard drives but not my first choice. I would go for either Samsung or Intel.
Voiding the warranty...most likely.
