      Answer

Dual band routers use both the 2.4Ghz and 5.0Ghz radio bands. This provides two different wifi streams to the router. Devices using the 802.11g specification can only transfer at up to 54Mbs and if you have one on your wifi network, that will limit the speed of all devices on that network. An 802.11n device can go up to 450Mbs (some routers are limited to 300Mbs or less) so if you have a dual band 802.11n device had have it used the 5.0Ghz band it will go at full speed while your older 802.11g devices use the 2.4Ghz band.

          Answer

By default the 5ghz band is noted with a 5G at the end of the network name. If you see this on the name of your network you are connected to then you are connected to the 5ghz network. Regards, Belkin Support

The processor requirements are only for the included software. The router itself will function with any computer via a wired connection or with any wireless computer that is wireless B, G or N capable. Regards, Belkin support

To allow both devices to print wirelessly, will I need to load the router software onto both laptops (would I also need to load the printer software to the second laptop that currently doesn't have it)?

          Up-grade from wireless G to N   (2 Answers)

I have a wireless G router provided by Verizon Fios. I want to upgrade to a wireless N router for streaming Netflix to my TV with built-in wireless N down stairs. Currently the TV shows received signal strength of 2 bars out of 5. Will a new wireless N router help? If it will, how do I hook-up the new wireless N routet to the existing wireless G router? The G router does not have switch to turn-off the wireless signal, will the existing G signal interfer with the new N signals? Thanks for the help.

            Answer

The N router will definitely help as Wireless N has a longer range and faster signal than G does. You can either use your new router in access point mode and connect it to your old router like that or just connect it directly to your router and use it as a second router. The wireless networks will not interfere with each other as each have different SSID's and are 2 separate wireless networks. Regards, Belkin Support
