I actually don’t fill it up because I know it’s not going to use that much water. And since I use distilled I don’t want to waste it. Anyway I just turn mine upside down in the sink (after I have taken the dirty cloth off first). It’s very light weight. Then I leave the top open so it can dry out. That part may not be necessary but I’m ocd so I do things like that

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I usually fill the unit up with distilled water (tap water here is brutal on most appliances) and because of that I don't empty the unit at all. Otherwise you would just open the fill port and tip the unit upside down to drain it. Not difficult.
