  • Questionspecs say expandable memory to 64gb. Has anyone had success trying larger sd cards? 128gb? 256gb?

    Asked by pde.

    • Answer It does. I'm using a 128GB sd card inside it. As for a 256GB, not sure. But the problem arises in the way it works with the phone. There are 2 options. Use as internal memory, or as portable storage. This is what you need to do: 1 - Migrate data from whatever card you're going to use to a space place, and then pop the SD card into the phone. It'll say it can't read it, it needs to fix it, blah blah blah. Say ok, ok ok, and have it format it. 2 - Then when it asks how you want to use it, say as Portable storage. 3 - Then eject the SD card, and migrate all your data back onto it from your safe space (e.g. PC, Mac, whatever). - Apparently, it only accepts FAT32 File format. So you can't put video files of larger than 2GB (It's a file format limitation). - Why they (BLU) went with this (File format), is beyond me. But it's a burner/Cr@p phone, what do you expect? 4 - Pop card back in after you migrated your info, done. Note: If you choose internal memory option, it'll encrypt your SD card, and who knows what file system it uses, or whatever. But the point is, if you do this... you won't be able to pop the SD card into a PC and access it. Apparently, it's only readable by the phone. So be forewarned.
