Hi, thanks for your question. You can certainly use a third party center channel speaker in place of the Acoustimass 10 speaker. You’ll want to be sure to connect it directly to the center channel output of your receiver as opposed the output of the Acoustimass bass module. The acoustic characteristics will likely differ, though it’s really personal preference. We hope this helps!

Don't hookup speakers that did not come with the system before checking with BOSE or other trusted sources. The Acoustimass module has signal processing systems which may require a specific resistance from each speaker. They do not reveal that in their Owner's Guide. I would recommend you query BOSE directly, continue to monitor this forum or look to a search engine like Google or perhaps you can find an answer on Facebook.
