No. I was concerned about that and I tried the Epson 3600. But the Epson has such a clumsy interface that I took it back and bought the Canon G3200. Love this printer and the "no duplex" has not been a problem or annoyance. Straight through paper path for all weights including card stock. Easy to manually flip over the paper to continue printing on other side.

When you click "print on both sides" in your document's printing software (Word, Excel, InDesign, etc.) all you have to do is turn the paper around and load it in the simple, very straightforward paper holder. Then click "continue printing" in a pop-up box on your computer or push the appropriate button on the printer itself. I liked the automatic duplex printing on my Canon 640 printer, however, doing it manually has not been a problem and I highly recommend this printer for it's print quality and overall ease of use.
