A:AnswerI have been able to resolve this issue with 2 Micro Bars so far. Contact Definitive Technology Support and they will email you some firmware update information. There will be two different firmware update files (one for Micro Bars with an IR port and one for those Bars that don't have an IR port) along with a PDF document detailing how to install the firmware update via a USB thumb drive.
A:AnswerI just posted a review for this product. I started having the same issue, actually it started with a random pop and click.
the product is severely flawed. every few weeks the problems come back. I got a replacement 1 time, and several files to download and install the additional times. all to no avail, the problems just keep coming back.
the last issue for me was an ear damaging high pitch sound (ears still ringing and going to an ear doc soon).
working on getting a resolution but I will not be keeping this product and will never purchase from Definitive again.
A:AnswerYes you actually program the sound bar it's self not the remote to accept input from your remote. The instructions are on def techs tube channel. Super easy
A:AnswerTheir customer service sucks but you'll have a good chance of getting through on the phone if you say you have a W device. Although it was a pain to get in touch with them, they emailed me instructions to manually update the firmware which fixed the problem.
A:AnswerSame thing happened to me after a year of use. You can replace the battery in on the back of the remote , you will need a flat head screwdriver. Battery is a CR2032
A:AnswerI had this issue as well. support was unable to help me as well. but I've had MANY problems with this sound bar and in the process of getting a refund or some other compensation. this product is awful.
my last straw was an ear damaging high pitch ring. not exaggerating with the ear damaging part.
if you can, return this item as soon as possible.
A:AnswerIt seems like the commercials have varying sound (some surround and some stereo only). We were able to minimize/eliminate the issue by adjusting the center channel down with soundbar remote. Sometimes the bass default is too loud (e.g. really notice on ABC news etc) as well. Note that when you click bass + or - (same for center) you will note that there will be 5 out of 10 white lights that temporarily show on soundbar front by default. Try hitting - (minus) about 3 times to get 3 lights or so for each. Then then the volume up a little and adjust bass/center slightly for your situation (up or down). These levels will hold until soundbar is totally powered off. You may want to use a Harmony remote etc as then you can set a level upon power up.
A:AnswerTake a pic of the unit serial number. Email the Definitive customer service and get a case number. Call them during open hours. Be patient and persistent on the call back reservation.
They will transfer you to the right person and with the case number and this failure mode will send you a NEW unit.
