A:AnswerHey there! If you’re lacking a C wire and have at least four wires at your thermostat to work with, the Power Extender Kit (PEK), included with your smart thermostat, can be installed at your furnace control board. This allows you to create a C wire using the existing thermostat wiring by combining the functionality of the Y and G into one wire.
A:AnswerOnce you connect it to your wifi, it doesn't disconnect.
If there's a power failure to your thermostat or your wifi goes down, the thermostat will reconnect when the problem goes away.
I have also read in their product description that if the wifi is out the thermostat will continue to run the current temperature setting.
A:AnswerLet's take a closer look at this together. Please email support@ecobee.com with a photo of the wiring at the thermostat and at the HVAC system. The team is always happy to help!
