• It does not require it and works fine. You may need to use the Garmin Express app on your computer to apply updates and make configuration changes etc.

• It will work without the app, however, if you do not connect it to your app you will want to connect it to your computer using Garmin Express so you can receive updates and upload your data. Debbie with Garmin
