After looking at many, many refrigerators over the past 6 months, I am fairly familiar with them. I believe you need to correct the model number on the 27 cu ft. to this one (GNE27ESMSS). It appears to be an entry level French door model with no water dispenser inside and no snack drawer. It is smaller and has fewer features than this one (GNE29GSKSS). The 28.5 cu ft. model has a full width meat/cheese/snack drawer under the produce bins. It has two evaporators instead of one, a larger fresh food compartment and freezer, and fully adjustable cantilever shelves (which are the best IMO). You cannot begin to understand the reasons why one color in a model is $400 less than another color in the same model. It's all about marketing, stock availability, and whether a color will be continued, among other reasons. Just so you will know, GE has discontinued manufacturing the 28.5 cu foot model, but there is still some stock at various retailers around the country. My advice is compare, read closely the features, read reviews, check professional reviews, call repair companies for repair histories, and then, if you haven't lost all patience in this shopping exercise, buy one based on the best information you have at the time. They really don't make them like they used to and there are some duds coming off the lines of all companies. I'd advise a 5-year extended warranty, but Best Buy, unfortunately, no longer offers these on their refrigerators. Best of luck in your search.
