  • Q: it takes 3-4 hours to dry towels/bed sheets... is this a problem everyone have?  (2 Answers)

    By Osman

    • Best answerHi Osman- This is Sue at GE Appliances. We can certainly understand your concern and glad to help. 3-4 hours would not be considered normal. Make sure the Time Dry setting is not set to Air Fluff (No Heat). You can change the temperature of your dry cycle. Choose Medium or High for permanent press and regular to heavy cottons. For reference, see page 7 of the Owner's Manual: http://products.geappliances.com/MarketingObjectRetrieval/Dispatcher?RequestType=PDF&Name=49-90370-1.pdf - If the cycle selection is appropriate, the vent system may need to be checked. We suggest to view the following troubleshooting link for details: http://products.geappliances.com/appliance/gea-support-search-content?contentId=18058 - We hope this is helpful. Keep in touch!

  • Q: Does the washer plug into the dryer? I know Bosch offers this feature and I only have 1 220V outlet.  (5 Answers)

    By Em

    • Best answerNo, the washer and dryer do NOT work off the same outlet, but the washer only requires a 110 circuit where the dryer requires a 220 circuit. I am very pleased with the pair, I might add. Very quiet and all the features I expected and liked. The Bosch works with an indoor evaporative dryer. In other words, all the heat and some humidity from the dryer gets put into your laundry room. I did not want that type of setup in Florida. We always need to get the heat and moisture out of the buildings. This is why I chose the GE. Of course the GE won't work in a high rise without outside ventilation.

  • Q: Is there a pedestal that will work with this washer and dryer stacked?  (3 Answers)

    • AHi Ozzy- Thanks for viewing GE! GE® Electric Dryer DCVH480EKWW is compatible with GE® Frontload Washer WCVH4800KWW. Optional Stacking Kit GE24STACK is sold separately. Pedestals are not available for these models. Also, on models with pedestal option, they cannot be used with stacked installation. Thanks for checking with us! SUEatGEA

    • ADon't waste your time or make a jerry-rigged mess out of the ventilation. Just buy a Bosch, Samsung or LG that all offer ventless drying.

    • AHi- This is Sue at GE Appliances. The energy cost of gas and electric dryers depends on many variables, such as: •The washer's ability to remove water from the clothes. •Type and size of load •How dryer is used (timed dry vs sensor dry). •Efficiency of the dryer (Ex. Is the lint filter and ducting clean?). •Local gas and electric rates. Dryers are exempted from energy labeling because of the many variables that affect energy use and cost. For information about the approximate energy cost for a gas and/or electric dryer, contact your local utility company for your rates. Many utility companies may also be able to provide guidance on which would be less expensive to run in your area. Here are the Power Ratings: (Volts/Watts/Amps) 240V, 5600W, 24A, 60Hz. Thanks for checking with us!

    • AYes, the dryer door can be switched from right to left hinge configuration. Our BB installers took care of that for us on delivery (we gave them a nice tip - they were extremely helpful)
