  • Q: Does the lid lock during use? If so, can it be unlocked to add more clothes?  (2 Answers)

    By Anonymous

    • Best answerHi- This is Sue at GE Appliances. Thanks for your interest in our Top Load Washers! Yes, the lid lock engages when the washer is either load-sensing before and during fill, or when it is spinning above 50 RPM. To add items after washer has started, press Start/Pause if the lid is locked; wait until the Lid Lock indicator on the display is no longer illuminated before attempting to open the lid. Lift the lid and submerge additional items around the outside of the basket. Close the lid and press Start to resume. Pausing the machine during the spin cycle does unlock the lid, but the user must wait until the basket has completely coasted down to a stop before the lid unlocks, of course for safety reasons. We hope this is helpful. Thanks for checking with us!

  • Q: Is this machine an HE or aggitator style?  (5 Answers)

    By 7777

    • Best answerHello, This model does have a dual action agitator. It provides better circulation and turnover of clothes than the flexcare agitator. The top half operates independent of the bottom half to help drive the clothes down into the water. The top 1/2 of the agitator rides on lubricated nylon bearings.

    • Best answerHello Speedy, Thank you for your question. New washers all use less water to comply with federal guidelines. However, some of the benefits of this model are as follows: ~Traditional agitator ~You have the option to control the load size ~You can select a deep rinse (which you will need) ~And, the best thing is you have a deep fill option. There are two ways Deep Fill can be used: •Add a little more water: Press the Deep Fill button once before starting the cycle to add 3 gallons of water to the wash load. Once the washer has stopped filling, you can press it again to add 3 more gallons. •Full Tub Fill: Press and hold Deep Fill button for 3 seconds to fill the washer to the maximum water level. It will fill to approximately 26 gallons If you have any additional questions, we are always happy to help. Lisa from GE Appliances

    • Best answerHi djlg- This is Sue at GE Appliances. Thanks for viewing! This washer features Precise Fill. This selection automatically provides the correct amount of water suited to the size and type of load placed in the unit so no water is wasted. It also features our popular Deep Fill option. Select the Deep Fill feature for loads where extra water is needed. Press the Deep Fill button once before starting the cycle to add an incremental amount of water to the wash load. Holding the Deep Fill button for 3 seconds will provide the deepest fill level possible. The Deep Fill button can also be pressed after the washer has completed filling and is in the wash phase if additional water is desired. The Speed Wash option is ideal for small loads of lighting soiled items that are needed in a hurry. Don't forget to view matching dryers GE® 7.2 CU. FT. • Best answerTake your jeans to the car wash. Clamp them in the mat clamps... then rinse! Works great on grass and dirt stains on baseball pants too.

    • Best answerHi thiswashersucks01- We are sorry to hear of this experience as it is not what we would expect. We are happy to provide assistance. A Rinse Only cycle can be accomplished by selecting the Deep Rinse and/or 2nd Rinse option in conjunction with the Drain & Spin cycle and it will perform a Rinse & Spin. Be sure to choose the appropriate water level for the load. If more water is desired, choose the Deep Fill option. You can also choose the Deep Rinse option. We recommend the use of High Efficiency detergents. HE detergents reduce the oversudsing problems commonly associated with regular detergents. • Q: can I rinse with warm water, and if so, can I vary the wash temperature from hot to warm?  (2 Answers)

    By susi

    • Best answerHi Susi- This is Sue at GE Appliances. Thanks for considering our GE Series Washer! The washer features Cold water rinses. Cold water rinse provide great suds removal. Also, the water temperature management systems senses the incoming water temperature and automatically adjust the wash water temperature to the selection you have chosen. The wash water temperature options are Tap Cold, Cold, Cool, Colors, Warm and Hot. Thanks for checking with us!
