“I hope you can respond immediately as leaving town for a week tomorrow. I want to know if I need to turn off icemaker off as will be gone. Worried it will keep making ice otherwise. Nothing in instruction book to help me.”

Hi - Thanks for choosing GE PWE23KMKES! We are sorry for the delay in responding. If your icemaker will not be used for some time (vacation, storage, etc.), we recommend that you shut off the water supply to the refrigerator and turn off the icemaker. If you turn off the water supply, make sure you also turn off the icemaker (use the Ice Make button on the control panel). Ours stopped but you can just turn it off to insure there are no issues.
