It's a battle game but not like you expect. You can't just run out shooting your opponents. You have to choose where on the map they move and who you're trying to kill. You only get a certain amount of tries before it's the other teams turn. It's really not fun if you're used to regular Gears.
This is a single player, turn based strategy game; no multiplayer. The campaign story takes place 12 years before the first Gears of War.
