You can name the network with the same name as your verizon network provided the verizon network is turned off. In fact you can name your network whatever you'd like as long as it is unique in your area.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Yes, this works. My Fios router was already in bridge mode. I disabled its WiFi broadcast and configured the Google WiFi with the same network name that we had set up on the Fios router. The Fios box still handles DHCP. All the end devices worked without reconfiguration. One printer recognized overlapping SID broadcasting and I had to select the MAC address of the one I wanted it to use.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. You can setup with the same network name if you'd like. Just be sure to shutoff the Verizon network and you should be good to go.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Yes this Google Wifi will be the device broadcasting your wireless network now. You can give it the same name that your Verizon router was using or you can create a different name. If you give it the same name and password then most devices that were connecting to the old network will just connect to the new one without readding it. If you decide to create a new one it is very easy to create networks on the Google Wifi.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. You will create an entirely new WiFi network. You can give it the same name but all devices will have to sign in again.
