Correct. Without a subscription you get real-time alerts, live-video feed and two-way communication but no historical recording.
Nest recently added free 3 hour review to non-subscribers. As a non-subscriber, you can also view the camera live and have the two way communication. You will also get real time activity alerts. You will not get specific alerts when the camera determines it sees what it thinks is a person, the ability to create clips, activity zones, or history longer than 3 hours ago.
All of the video needs to be uploaded and some computer algorithm processes the data for alerts. Therefore, if you don't pay for the processing, the video does upload but nothing is ever analyzed about it. It would simply upload data and overwrite it after a few hours. Upgrading to the $100/ year plan will process the images and send alerts, and also saves 10 days worth of video.
Exactly. The Nest Aware ap has a 10 day and a 30 day option. I have the 10 day and it's plenty. I pay monthly. The 1st camera is $10 and $5 for each additional. I really like the ap. It's very user friendly. They recently updated it and I like it even more now. You can set to get notifications as you want.
if no subscription, the answer is yes to the rest of your question. But if you subscribe you can get 10 or 30 day storage. I have no problem with 10 days worth of video footage....compared to adt or other companies, I am satisifed with storage and alerts with NEST.
I have the Nest indoor cameras as well. I do not have the subscription because I want to be able to check what is going on at home when I am not there. If I were trying to catch a thief that was taking my UPS packages, I would want the subscription. It simply depends on what you want your camera to do for you.
you are correct ..you get only live video ..no recording or history.
Yes, and you also get 3 hours of cloud recording.
