I would only recommend it if she has a reason to use a smart phone and has some computer literacy, otherwise I would recommend the Jitterbug flip phone. I got this for my 95 year old aunt and she really wanted to be able to use it but just couldn't manage the learning curve. She does have a computer and checks her email regularly. She didn't understand all it could do. We exchanged it for the flip phone and she does OK with it. She can push the 0 button for the operator and get a Lyft if she wants to. The fee is added to her monthly phone bill. My 83 year old friend recently got the smart phone and loves it. She texts, takes pictures, checks her email and downloads ecoupons to her grocery accounts. She had a better computer foundation than my Aunt. I think Best Buy will let you return it within 15 days if she can't figure it out so it may be worth a try.
My elderly aunt, 88 years old, purchased the Jitterbug phone. Sorry to say she was unable to learn how to use it as she could not figure out how to make a call or answer a call even with several of the family members trying to help her. She became very frustrated trying to use the phone so we went back to her old flip phone and got a separate medical alert system which has worked better for her.
Yes I’ll recommend this one to elder person because it is very easy to use
