Questioncan this sensor be placed outside, but under the cover of a patio or eave? it would be great to get the temp info for the front porch or back patio.
- Answer The system uses the average temperature across sensors to control heating and cooling. You can mount the sensor anywhere in range of the thermostat, but the system will consider that sensor as just another room. The thermostats control algorithm is designed for sensors to be located only in rooms or areas that are part of the heating/cooling system. If you don't want the outside temperature to affect the thermostat's calculation of average temperature, you'll need to prioritize the sensors that you do want to be included in the calculation.
QuestionCan this be used without a Honeywell thermostat? I just want to remotely monitor temperature.
- Answer No as they pair to your thermostat
- Answer It sounds like you need to delete the sensor and re connect it.
- Answer Hi Ret, the Honeywell Home app will send temperature alert notifications based on the active sensors and temperature readings of your space. For example: If you have the thermostat with two sensors but select the thermostat and one sensor, the temperature alert will come from the average of the thermostat and that sensor.
