You can choose to extend Office 365 on a monthly or yearly basis, with different options (1 PC, 1 User, student or business edition), but a version is also still available where you buy it under a "perpetual" license. This version is known as Microsoft Office Long Term Servicing Channel (LTSC), and the most recent version available now (July 2023) is for 2021. This operates like the original Office in that you pay once and use it as long as you want, rather than as a subscription service. There are two basic versions: 1) Includes Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and
OneNote (which will not changed from Office 2019) and 2) Can also have Outlook, Access (Windows only), and Publisher (Windows only). There are also LTSC releases of Project and Visio. Pricing is similar to the original "pay once, use forever" versions of Office, meaning relatively high, since MS would rather people move to the subscription version, which is more profitable for them.
