You actually can use Office 365 with a Chromebook, as well as the Office apps from the Google Play store.
It should also be pointed out, that all Chromebooks can use the free Google suite of office apps, including Docs, Sheets and Keep, and of course, can access email via Gmail or outlook.com or any other email provider, via the web browser. The Google productivity apps can read and write to MS Office file formats.
Hi Peter, This HP X360 Chromebook allows you to use the Linux terminal so you can install LibreOffice Suite. I've done that on mine and it works flawlessly. I gave up on MS Office years ago. I've been using LibreOffice for at least ten years and have not had any compatibility problems. What is nice about LibreOffice on this machine is that you have a full office suite to use off line. Check it out, you may like it. Hope this helps. Have a good day.
If you’re referring to Microsoft office, you can download word, PowerPoint, excel etc. as an app. It works just fine.
Yes, you can access one drive and work on all Microsoft suite but it’s all in the cloud not on the chrome book. So you won't be able to work off line
Yes if you go to the Office 365 website and have a subscription to Office
Well, yes and no. Office apps can be run in Linux by means of various techniques: Crossover app,, using the Android versions, using Wine (with some setup), with PlayOnLinux. Of course one can use LIbreOffice, which produces equivalent docs, after the MS core fonts are installed. Even the interface of LIbreOffice can be tweaked to resemble the MS versions better. So, turning on Linux provides you with options, plus the Android versions offered by Microsoft.
You can not "download" much of anything onto a Chromebook thus the reason for the extremely small internal storage capacity. Chromebooks are meant to be used with online apps and cloud storage. Microsoft office can be accessed from a Chromebook by going to www.office.com and signing in. If you don't have an account, you can create one - they are free. Hope this helps.
