Hello and thank you for asking. The HP Color LaserJet Pro MFP M283fdw is dynamic security enabled which may be updated periodically by firmware updates. They are intended to be used only with toner cartridges using an original HP chip, included with every new genuine HP toner cartridge. Cartridges using a non-HP chip may not work, and those that work today may not work in the future.
