The + button is to increase volume. The - button is to decrease volume. The phone button is to answer or make cell phone calls (you have to have the speaker paired with your phone via Bluetooth.)

Please try again later.The buttons' functionality is the following: - The first button is Turn On/Off (there is a light on the front of the speaker that shows the on or off position) - The "dash" is to lower the sound - The "phone" is for a Bluetooth connection to any Bluetooth device - this connection allows the speaker to be used as a microphone and a speaker, if connected to a mobile phone. - The "plus" is to increase the sound Hope this is helpful.
