A:AnswerAs pointed out, these are lighter than the previous generation earbuds. They are also smaller so people with smaller ear canals, that experienced issues before, shouldn't have any issues. I highly recommend using the included ComplyFoam tips instead of the silicon/rubber ones. Not only are they lighter but, for me, they make a better seal and are a lot more comfortable. I usually have issues with earbuds that have rubber/silicon tips. They never, ever stay in my ears and Bose was the only company that made earbuds I actually liked and would fit in my ears. Jaybird has really knocked it out of the park for me with these. They fit in my ears just as well, if not better, than my Bose earbuds and better than any other earbuds on the market. I've tried wireless earbuds from Sony, LG, JBL/Under Armor, Phillips, Beats, Skullcandy, and Sol Republic. The Jaybird Freedom earbuds, with their ComplyFoam and ear wings, are the only ones that have stayed in my ears whether I'm bending over picking up stuff, working my lab, sitting at my desk, or walking a few miles in the hot sun.
A:AnswerOnly thing missing on the black Friday ones are some ear cushions. Only comes with medium and small silicone. No large silicone and no foam tips
A:AnswerThe clip is charged via micro-USB as are the main earbuds. Actually, in order to charge the earbuds, you must attach the charging clip. The earbuds will be charged first and then the clip will be charged second. Think of the clip as both a USB adapter and external battery. The internal battery of the earbuds will always be used/charged first. You can get a total of 8 hours (probably more like 10 hours based on the reviews) of playback when leaving the charging clip plugged in. The first 4-5 hours will drain the charging clip (it will actually drain the battery for the earbuds but the charging clip will continually charge them as they are being used) and then the second 4-5 hours will drain the earbuds themselves. That means that you could theoretically charge the clip while using the earbuds and get even more playback (around 12-15 hours).
A:AnswerI've resorted to using the actual phone as the microphone sound quality is poor, regardless of the configuration of the headset (e.g., hanging or in behind the head form).
A:Answerthe headset looks to be the same between the f5 and the freedom 2. accessories are different tho. the "special editions" only come with 2 sets of silicone ear tips. don't know why the retail price is the same as the other colors when it comes with less stuff. I feel like they are trying to pull a fast one.
A:AnswerNo, I have not had this happen and hope that it doesn't. Thanks for the warning. Mine came with two sizes and I did have to switch to the smaller size. The special jaybird buy did not come with all the bells and whistles as I did a review after purchase and some comes with memory foam ear tips which would have been nice as an added option. Good luck.
A:AnswerDon't know why people keep saying no. You can power the earbuds with the battery pack as long as it is charged up. It does add a fair amount of weight though, but is doable and I have done a the gym numerous times.
A:AnswerMy husband had a pair that stopped working after a year. He contacted the manufacturer and the customer service was spectacular. They gave him a new replacement pair. If anything, call them if your product is defective or stops working properly in any way. With his experience, they really stand by their product.
A:AnswerI bought mine about two months ago and have used them daily during workouts, runs, hikes, phone calls, and movie watching. They are comfortable and very reliable.
A:AnswerTechnically, no. They’re not noise-canceling which is actively balancing out background noise. BUT they do a good job at blocking outside noise from coming in. I also workout at a gym that has some really obnoxious members at times and plays really bad music. It comes with medium and small silicone tips as well as small, med, and large anchors. The tips fit very well in your ears, and the anchors keep them there. I would say they block out a good 80% to 90% of sound. And if you play your music loud normally (like I do) you’ll have to struggle to hear or notice any other noise around you.
I’d also invest in some replacement tips because I found once you start switching out anchors for fit etc the tips can pop off really easily and get lost.
A:AnswerThe sound quality is better on the x3 but their too big for my ears so I got the freedom instead. More comfortable and I don't feel like I'm underwater with the x3. Also, the x3 kept sliding out of my ears. Their just to big.
A:AnswerWhen you charge the headphones are you making sure that both the charger (has a battery as well) and the headphones are being charged fully? Both the charger and the headphones should have green lights on to indicate that they are charged.
