QuestionHow do I access the set up menu on this monitor? I am using it with MacBookPro 2018. When I press the LG monitor on/off button I see the settings menu but cannot access it neither using the keyboard arrows nor mouse pad.

- Answer The knob you're using to turn the monitor on and off (located on the bottom, center of the monitor under the LG logo) toggles up/down/left/right. You can adjust the settings by toggling the knob directly via the monitor, as needed.

QuestionI am using the monitor with a MacBook Pro but the resolution is weird. The screen is just stretched and it doesn't get better when I sort through the settings. Any suggestions to getting the monitor on a normal resolution?

- Answer I had a display port cable attached that only let me select 1920x1080 max resolution, but switching to hdmi I was able to get the full 2560x1080 resolution. You might try some of the software from LG https://www.lg.com/us/support/software-firmware-drivers?customerModelCode=34WL500-B&csSalesCode=34WL500-B.AUS (I assume the "on screen controller" software just allows things like brightness changes, the other is 'dual controller' for mac, which might provide additional software support for it.) But in the end, I'd be suspicious of the cable first and foremost, as I think natively any modern OS should be able to output 2560x1080 resolution.

- Answer It is similar. Split-screen mode allows you to do this on a single screen by dividing your computer screen into two halves ( by 3 or 4) so you can view different windows at the same time. Not only does this allow more screen real estate but it makes workflow more efficient. ^Daphane

- Answer I use a MacBook Pro with this monitor. The onscreen split software doesn’t work too well with it. Can’t say for sure about the older monitor but I surmise if you have e hub with available ports you should be able to use both.

QuestionIs there a removable film on the screen? I am noticing some gouges and scratches in the layer of plastic over the screen but when I try to peel the corners it isn't coming off easily. The layer is obvious because the dust settles along the edges.

QuestionThe recommended resolution for my screen is not working, it is cutting off about two inches from the top and bottom and its also quite stretched. I have tried almost every setting and updated drivers, nothing is fixing the stretched issue, help?

- Answer The LG 34WL500-B 34 Inch 21:9 UltraWide 1080p Full HD IPS Monitor with HDR, has a native resolution of 2560 x 1080 which is an Aspect Ratio of 21:9 as indicated in the title description. Check to see what Aspect Ratio (might be Screen Fit or something similar) it can output. If it can only putput a 16:9 Aspect ratio then you will get black bars...^IFV

QuestionI'm not a gamer, so what is the minimal cost video card to run this monitor? I have i7 4790 Haswell, in a Socket 1150 LGA Z97 PCMate (MS-7850). Bios is AMI V 4.7 12-23-2014. 16 GB DDR3 dual channel, PC3-12800 (800 MHz), G-Skill 4 x 4GB, Windows 10 Home.

- Answer i would recommend a gtx 1050 or rx 570 4gb minimum but if you can a rtx 2060 or rx 5600xt would work great
