QuestionDoes anyone know if LG has made any modifications to help with the compressor problem. I absolutely love the appearance of this model but after reading about the class action law suite over the LG linear compressor failures I’m really afraid to buy it.
- Answer We appreciate your interest in our refrigerators. We are always reevaluating the parts used in our products to ensure the standards that are set are achieved. We make changes to not only the parts but to the warranty as well when needed. Our refrigerators now come with a 1 year parts and labor warranty on the entire unit as well as a 5 year parts and labor warranty on the compressor and sealed system and a 10 year parts only warranty on the compressor. ^CP
QuestionHow cold does the spacious, interior fridge compartment get? What is the temperature inside the instaview door? What is ideal fridge temperature? Are the two freezer drawers the same temperatures, since they are both freezers? Should they be the same?
- Answer We just had this unit installed. It is a surprise to me how warm the instaview door compartment is. It does not keep food at a safe temperature (at or below 40 degrees F). I would not have purchased this unit had I known that this would be an issue. I know that door temps are always higher than interior compartment temps, so I compared the temperatures of our side by side refrigerator door to the instaview door in our new LG. After 30 min without opening our old side by side, its side door temp (with refrigerator temp set at 36F) came in at 38F. After 30 min w/out opening any compartments on our new LG, the instaview door temp (with fridge setting of 34F) comes in at 42F. This is too warm to safely store perishables, especially milk, 1/2 & 1/2 and yogurt. The reason we bought this model was to allow our kids to go in and out of the fridge to grab milk and yogurt without bringing the temperature of the main compartment down. Now we can only safely store non-perishables in the instaview door.
QuestionDoes the see-through window fog up? If it does, does air-flow clear it up almost immediately? Is the glass also fingerprint-resistant in some way? What about condensation on the inside or outside of the glass? Is it double/multi-pane to prevent that?
- Answer Had no issues with fog or condensation thus far. It is also fingerprint resistant.
QuestionWe had this model installed 2 weeks ago, and works great EXCEPT the water temperature from the water dispenser is 60 degrees (F). Is this normal? It’s colder outside right now than the water dispenser temperature.
- Answer The default temperature for the refrigerator and freezer compartments for LG refrigerators is 37°F for the refrigerator compartment and 0°F for the freezer compartment. The water that is dispensed through the Ice/Water Dispenser for the LG InstaView™ Door-in-Door® 27.8 Cu. Ft. 4-Door French Door Refrigerator - Stainless Steel, Model # LMXS28596S will be at the same temperature as the temperature that you have your refrigerator compartment set at. The water reservoir for the water dispenser is not that big, so when the water runs out, it takes a while for the reservoir to refill and to cool the water down to the temperature that you have your refrigerator compartment set for so if you dispense water before it has had time to cool to that temperature, the water will be warmer...^IFV
QuestionIs the top drawer a flex zone or are there two freezer drawers?
- Answer Both drawes are freezer
QuestionAre the articles in the door in door area illuminated as shown in the photo or semi concealed by tinted glass? If concealed, does the light in the door in door only come on when the door is opened and therefore you would not see the articles.
- Answer InstaView™ Door-in-Door® refrigerators have a sleek glass panel that allows you to see inside the easy access door without letting the cold air out. Simply knock twice on the glass to illuminate the contents within. ^CP

QuestionDoes this unit have the feature to make the round ice cubes?

QuestionCan all the doors of the 30 cu ft LG instaview fridge be removed for delivery in order to get it through the door?? ( The 2 french doors, Middle drawer and freezer drawer ???)

QuestionLMXS28596... Does this model suppose to have a light in the bottom freezer? Mine does not light up.
- Answer There is no light in the bottom freezer shelf. The first freezer shelf has a light on the right side, but there is no light on the left side of this shelf. The left side is the ice cube tray that holds extra ice cubes.
QuestionInterest in this but curious if the drawer above the freezer can be for drinks. Hoping it is refrigerator and not freezer.
- Answer Both bottom drawers are freezers. You can still put your drinks in that drawer they will be icy.
