  • Q: What size gas Line is required for this unit?  (1 Answer)

    By Phops

    • Best answerYour laundry room must have a rigid gas supply line to your dryer. In the United States, an individual manual shutoff valve MUST be installed within at least 6 ft. (1.8 m) of the dryer, in accordance with the National Fuel Gas Code ANSI Z223.1 must be installed. If using a rigid pipe, the rigid pipe should be 0.5-inch IPS. If acceptable under local codes and ordinances and when acceptable to your gas supplier, 3/8-inch approved tubing may be used where lengths are less than 20 ft. (6.1 m). Larger tubing should be used for lengths in excess of 20 ft. (6.1 m). ^CP

  • Q: Does anyone know how Best Buy geek squad checks for a gas leak with the dryer installation?  (1 Answer)
This question is for: LG - SteamDryer 7.4 Cu. Ft. 10-Cycle Steam Gas Dryer - White

    By Mhuang

    • AI'm not sure, as in our case, after two gas leaks in the first two days of ownership, they replaced the dryer completely, along with the gas hose and connector, and the vent line (which also was not properly connected). We had to shut the gas off at the valve to resolve the problem temporarily until the Geek Squad or the installers could come out to make the "repair." The first leak, the install team sent out a second install team to "fix" the leak problem. Leak #1 occurred within a few hours of the install. Then, it was going to be almost two weeks for the Geek Squad to even arrive, but then the install team stepped in again and did the replacement (the second leak) within the first few days. No more gas problems in the month since then. A better option may be to call your gas utility, if it is an emergency. I have seen a gas company employee use a soapy mixture to identify a leak by seeing where the soap bubbles up from the pressurized gas. Better to just call the utility company, than to mess with it yourself, though, I think.

  • Q: What is the meaning of UL in gas dryer , and do we have that in this Gas dryer ?  (2 Answers)
This question is for: LG - SteamDryer 7.4 Cu. Ft. 10-Cycle Steam Gas Dryer - White

    By Loc

    • APresumably you are referring to the Underwriters Laboratory or UL approval. All major appliances have probably been UL tested before they hit the market. This is standard procedure to test the design and manufacture of devices such as this. They are not all tested by the UL, just those machines sent to them before the first manufacturing run.

    • ARegrettably, neither the specifications not the owner's manual for the ENERGY STAR® Qualified LG 4 cu. ft. Ultra Large Capacity SteamDryer™ w/ NFC Tag On (Gas), Model # DLGX3371W give any measurements for the location of the vent exhaust. The exhaust vent is in the middle in the back of the dryer about 2 inches from the bottom. The third image on the company site shows the back of the dryer while it is mounted on a pedestal and will give you a better visual guide on its location...^IFV
